Sustainable Passive Architecture in the Bulkley Valley

February 9, 2015

On Sunday, Jan 25, eight Birchwood Cohousing members interested in a sustainable cohousing project for the Bulkley Valley visited Bryan and Theresa’s house to learn about their experience and challenges building a sustainable passive solar house. We learned about European Passivhuas standards; John Gower, certified solar passive architect; use of thermal solar heat and how a biodigestive system provides gas for the kitchen stove and heat for the greenhouse. All in all it was a delightful learning experience for the group.
